1905-06 P. C. Reniers Sons, architects
The architects were apparently sons of Peter Charles Reniers, sculptor of the Hays Monument in Section 8.This replaced Chisletts original Receiving Vault of 1858 and generally duplicated its design, though an annex of c. 1960 now impairs its balance. The blueish Friendship Hill sandstone was donated by a Corporatorof the Cemetery. The Pittsburgh architects Rutan & Russell also submitted a design. |
